Nagoya Notebook väver ihop Anna Strands iscensatta fotografier och texter med fotografier tagna under 1930-talet i den japanska staden Nagoya. Tillsammans ger materialet upphov till en fiktiv anteckningsbok om fotografi. Annorlunda uttryckt samlar boken anteckningar om ämnen som makt, seende, tid, rum och nostalgi. Texterna utgår från ett och samma jag – allt är skrivet i första person och med samma handstil. Samtidigt rör det sig om ett jag som i såväl bild som text tillåter sig att inta och undersöka olika kroppar, uttryck och riktningar.
